As Christians, we are called to serve! Find your place of service at Allen Temple!
Following the Holy Scriptures as stated in Acts 6, the Deacons Ministry is following the Holy Spirit and requests the congregation to look out amongst yourselves for individuals who you feel would be appropriate candidates to serve as Deacons. Understanding the needs of our growing and changing congregation, the Deacons Ministry at Allen Temple Baptist Church has elected to onboard a Deacons class of men and women in the Fall of 2024. To ensure transparency in our process and that we are receiving candidates from every area of our congregation, this process will be managed electronically. We ask that you pray and meditate on the following scriptures prior to making a nomination: Acts 6:1; Timothy 3:1-4; Titus 1:5-9. The nomination period will be open from August 18 through September 15, 2024. Nominations will not be accepted after this time frame. Please refer to the online nomination form, which contains the Deacons Ministry Nominations Process Document. Questions? Contact Deacons Ministry Chairperson Kendra Roberts-McClure at krmcclure@allen-temple.org.

The Deaconess Ministry serves members by providing spiritual care and acts of mercy. We assist and cooperate with the Pastors and Deacons Ministry with visiting the sick, needy, and distressed members of the church. The ministry provides support to bereaved families and new members. In doing so, we assist the Pastors in developing the spiritual life of members through precept and example. Each month, the Deaconess Ministry prepares for the corporate observance of the ordinances of the Church – Communion and Baptism. If you or someone you know would make an excellent candidate with a heart to serve, please feel free to leave a message for Deaconess Chair S. Jamila Buckner via the Church office at 510-544-8910 or email here.
