Allen Temple Mourns the Passing of Dr. M.T. Thompson

The Allen Temple Baptist Church Family mourns the passing of Reverend Dr. M.T. Thompson, father of our Senior Pastor Elect Dr. Jacqueline Thompson, Pastor Emeritus of Berkeley Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Presiding Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church.

Anointed by God as a preacher, teacher, pastor and singer, Dr. Thompson was a one of a kind and priceless gift to the body of Christ. Pastor Thompson’s ministry extended throughout the Bay Area and beyond, having mentored many in ministry and touched the lives of countless others through his unique, charismatic preaching and giving heart. Please join us in continued and fervent prayer for our Pastor, his wife Sister Ana Jo Thompson, and the entire Thompson family.

Homespun Verses by Grandma Pearl by Allen Temple's own Mother Pearlie Williams

Homespun Verses by Grandma Pearl is the first collection of poems published by Allen Temple's own Mother Pearlie Williams. In this book, she successfully opens windows and lets the reader take a look at some of the everyday experiences of ordinary people. In down-to-earth, mostly rhyming, verses, she upturns memories, produces smiles, relates reminders of spiritual living.

Pearl, who in now eighty-six years old, has done most of her writing in the last twenty years. Her collection compares favorably with other published authors.

2019 Thanksgiving Food Drive

Allen Temple Family and Friends are invited to join us as we endeavor to provide 200 Thanksgiving Food Baskets for families in our community! Will you help us to ensure that our neighbors enjoy a hot, home cooked meal by donating the following items?

• Last Names D-F: Corn Muffin Mix
• Last Names G-I: Cranberry Sauce (14 ounce can)
• Last Names J-L: Green Beans (Two 14 ounce cans or One 50 ounce can)
• Last Names M-P: Packaged Macaroni & Cheese
• Last Names Q-S: Sweet Potatoes (Two 15 ounce cans, One 40 Ounce can or Fresh)
• Last Names T-Z: Packaged Stuffing

You may drop off your donation to the Family Life Center Information Booth Monday through Friday from 8am until 4pm or to the barrels in the Narthex and/or Family Life Center Lobby by Sunday, November 24. Monetary donations are also gratefully accepted; please mark your giving envelope or online gift with “Thanksgiving Food Donations.” For more information, email info@allen-temple.org.
