Allen Temple's own Reverend Ronald Cole is honored to announce his new book, Paying Attention: A Spiritual Journey. Reverend Cole’s motivation to write this book is the result of his paying attention to certain circumstances, which occurred throughout his life that he considered to be spiritual. While living a full life, these circumstances played an important part in his growth and maturing in life as well in Christ. Being a father of five children, his paying attention has benefited them as well. The knowledge and wisdom he gained made him a better parent.

Spending the better part of his working life in sales, which he enjoyed, Reverend Cole ended my employment in a job of my dreams—a management analyst working with numbers. Shortly before retirement, he committed to God’s call on his life that he received in Vietnam. Although he wasn’t excited about going back to school, he entered seminary focusing on spirituality. After graduating seminary, he was ordained at his home church, then entered another seminary that offered a program in spiritual formation, which was very fulfilling as well as enlightening.

Reverend Cole began to write this book after attending those seminaries. He considered the writing of this book a part of his calling, only to find out three years into this project his total fulfillment would come from receiving the opportunity to be a spiritual care counselor for a hospice company. Outside of raising his children, being a spiritual care counselor for souls transitioning from this world has been the most rewarding experience of his life.
