I've cried and prayed a lot in the last 48 hours--hugged my kids a lot more too. I have to write something...it's a release... You're the benefactor, sorry.
There is no single answer to address the gun violence in our culture.
Aspects ranging from mental health, education, preventative care and counseling; folks from the faith communities, schools and the like must play their part as well. I do believe a key to such violence is common sense gun laws. I grew up in and around gun violence. I've been shot at, seen people shot, and have lost friends to gun violence.

Today, as we celebrate the global recognition of World AIDS Day, you should know that American faith communities have launched the single largest US response in the history of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. You should also be proud to know that Allen Temple AIDS Ministry has been cited as a model of people of faith responding to this pandemic. Nationwide list, 1 out of 4 AIDS service organizations are operated by religious institutions. The Faithful Response to HIV The AIDS epidemic cannot be defeated without the intentional commitment and engagement and participation of African American congregations and more importantly, the renewed commitment of Allen Temple Baptist Church.
Seventy percent of the world’s people identify themselves as members of a religious community – and a majority of those living with HIV are people of faith. Their faith helps to shape how they perceive themselves and impacts our community to respond to others in need both locally and globally.

Early Voting & Returning Vote by Mail Ballots
All registered voters are encouraged to cast their ballot on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6! Polling places will be open from 7:00am to 8:00pm.
Note that Vote By Mail ballots must be returned to a polling place on Election Day or be in the possession of your county's Registrar of Voters office no later than 8pm on Tuesday, November 6, or it will not be counted.
Early Voting is underway in all nine Bay Area counties! You may also drop off your Vote by Mail ballot to your county's registrar! If you need to confirm the location of your polling place, you may also check here. Information by county is as follows:
